Our stance on MAHA vs. Food Scientists
Your Weekly Meal Guide Is Here!!!
This Sunday we are launching a weekly meal plan service. We are constantly being asked for meal ideas, gut friendly recipes, help with hitting protein goals, how to get enough fiber, ways to make healthy eating fun, etc.
The meal guide will have breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and sweet treat recipes for the work week. There will be a breakdown of the estimated protein, calorie, and fiber intake of these meals. Each week the meal guide will drop Sunday morning along with a grocery list. Each meal with be gluten free and mostly dairy free with the option to always replace for diary.
The goal is to make healthy cooking fun while taking out the pain of having to search for recipes and put together meal plans. This is perfect for meal prepping or making day to day meals.
Sunday’s meal guide will be sent out for free. However, after this week the meal plans will only be sent to subscribers! The monthly subscription is $5 and the yearly subscription is $50. Subscribers will also be sent monthly guides such as our gluten-free guide or our holiday recipe booklet. We can’t wait to make meals along side of you all, it’s going to be so much fun!!
For legal purposes, this is guidance and not health advice!!
MAHA vs. Food Scientists
American health experts are at war, which feels like an oxymoron considering those who are supposed to be helping us stay healthy are spending their time publicly bashing each other — feels a little unhealthy if you ask me??
I’ve wanted to discuss the food scientist vs. MAHA debate for a while now, but don’t want our platform to turn into this place where people come to fight each other. Our platform as a whole is a really positive place and we want to keep it that way.
However, I’ve always had trouble biting my tongue about things I believe in so I do want to put some thoughts out there that might resonate with others.
The MAHA movement has stemmed in short because our country is getting sicker and sicker, while our healthcare system continues to provide a pill for a pain. When was the last time you heard someone say they went to the doctor and the doctor gave them free guidance on how to help them stop and/or prevent a health problem? Instead, people leave the doctor's office with a direct path to the pharmacy to pick up the band aids, aka medications, to keep them just healthy enough to pay for said medications for the rest of their lives. Short term reversible health problems become decade long issues.
And I know this because when I battled with debilitating IBS for close to 10 years, I went to a world renowned gastroenterologists that told me “there is nothing I can do” and then prescribed me an anti-depressant to slow the signal from my brain to my gut. To be clear, I was not depressed, nor did I mention an issue with depression during my visit.
Luckily, I listened to my gut instinct that said, “this feels off,” or else I probably would have been on the anti-depressant for years if not for the rest of my life. My gut impacts my skin, my hormones, my sleep, my energy, and my overall happiness. It was difficult to digest the idea that there was nothing I could do.
There was not one conversation about diet alterations, supplements to support my body, or lifestyle changes I could make. What I experienced was the “science” way to go about it. So, I turned to “holistic” health. No long-term prescriptions, no life sentences regarding the state of my health. Just education on how to eat real foods. Supplements to mend the state of my gut. And lifestyle changes like lifting weights instead of overdoing the cardio machines.
In return, my cystic acne disappeared within weeks. My restless sleep became deep and restorative. My gut health problems vanished in such a shocking way that I couldn’t believe my eyes. My constantly foggy brain was back to being clear. I was happy and energized to hit the gym in the morning, and yet still had energy to complete my workday and after work activities. No prescriptions, but also minimal artificial foods and ingredients. Say all you want about double-blind peer reviewed studies. I removed the bad stuff and my health improved, a study solid enough for me!!
You see, the problem with the health scientists that fight MAHA say that Americans are just not moving their bodies and eating vegetables. But the more I moved my body and the more vegetables I ate, the worse I felt. It didn’t matter how many vegetables I threw into my protein smoothie or how many hours I spent on the treadmill, my gut got worse and worse. It’s not just me who has had to turn to “nontraditional” medicine to find answers. We have a platform of over 300,000 people who are constantly writing us seeking help after not getting help from their doctors.
Women who have gone to gastroenterologists with stomach pain, bloating, constipation, etc. and received 0 testing for it have reached out to work with Jenna, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. After meeting with Jenna and completing a simple GI Stool Test, their discomfort and pain have been completely reversed after dietary changes, supplemental support, and lifestyle modifications. Some of these doctors have 12+ years more of post grad education, and yet Jenna and others like her are the ones making an impact.
In 2024, it’s the hardest it’s ever been for women to get pregnant and stay pregnant. Autism rates are skyrocketing (1 in 36, compared to 1 in 150 in 2000). 1 in 4 women are on an antidepressants*** (could have easily been me). Over 50% of adults have pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Early onset cancer has increased by close to 80% between 1990 and today. All the while we are consuming products with pesticides, seed oils and artificial ingredients — all of which are proven to negatively impact our hormones, gut health, attention span, weight, longevity, and the list goes on.
The bottom line is what traditional medicine is doing is not working for millions of Americans. Take away Big Pharma and Big Food and any other government corruption that MAHA has been bringing to the surface. Just look around and ask yourself why the incidence of infertility, autism, early onset cancer, obesity, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes and more are skyrocketing. Clearly what we’re eating and how we’re living in America isn’t working. And for those of you who say “well I grew up on that stuff, and I turned out fine,” I have to challenge that based on the statistics above.
So, all is to say I’m following the people who are willing to stop and ask why. I’m following the people who are willing to make changes that may not be financially beneficial, to see if we can turn around the drastic health decline in our country. I don’t care what party affiliation they have; I care if they are willing to step away from the lack of testing and over prescribing of medications to see if we can find ways for our bodies to actually heal.
They say that insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Clearly our health care system needs to change, and we’re supporting whoever is willing to get to work.
*** We want to be clear that we are not against anti-depressants. Jenna was on them for years and at the time, they really helped her. The point we hope to make is it should never feel like the only option.
Thank you for listening and thank you for being open-minded! We are forever grateful for this community.
To Happy Guts and Happy Days,
Jill and Jenna

I wanted to share this post written by a cardiologist on why we need to embrace MAHA. The medical community is waking up more and more.

Great post! You're right that we don't need double blind trials to show that something works. A successful N=1 study will quickly spread to others. As a former physician, I can attest that we need to go it alone until the medical community cleans up its act. Keep up the good fight!
